A day of learning about and planning for the Mid-North N-NORC (Neighborhood-Naturally Occurring Retirement Community). Friday, October 19, 2012 at Trinity Episcopal Church.

The Senior Advocacy Team of the Mid-North Quality of Life Plan presents this opportunity to meet with others engaged in creating the NORC, the centerpiece of our plan to enhance the quality of life of our community Elders. Speakers include Dr. Phil Stafford of IU, Dr. Sharon Baggett of U of I and Ann Allen, MSW, of Elder Friendly Communities; all are experts on aging in place.

At this free event, you will have opportunities to

  •        Learn what an N-NORC is and how it benefits you
  •        Listen to a panel of experts tell us the steps to take
  •        Participate in roundtable discussions
  •        Help set the strategy for implementing the plan
  •        Connect and engage with others who share your interest
  •        Make a difference in your community
  •        Have fun!
  •        Enjoy a free continental breakfast and lunch

Who should attend:  Residents of the Mid-North Neighborhood, especially seniors aged 60 and up; organizations interested in the Mid-North Quality of Life Plan for seniors;  academics, experts and leaders in aging, accessibility, community building, faith traditions, health, housing, gerontology, nutrition, recreation, transportation, and related areas.
