Neighborhood Origins

The name of our neighborhood, Historic Meridian Park, has its roots in the subdivision and sale of the Osgood Estate Lands in 1905, which up to that time had been devoted to agriculture.

Project HOME Indy Renovation Grant

Project HOME Indy, an Indianapolis-based non-profit serving pregnant or parenting homeless teenage girls, has received a $190,000 grant from the Housing Trust Fund.

Plant Exchange a Blooming Success

A free plant exchange presented by Mapleton-Fall Creek Unity Group on May 9, in the open-air courtyard of St. Richard’s School within the Historic Meridian Park Neighborhood, attracted an unexpectedly high number of visitors and resulted in much enthusiasm and good will.

Neighborhood Garage Sale

Are you in the mood for spring cleaning? The 2009 HMP Garage Sale will be held Saturday, June 27, from 8 am to noon. A roster of participating homes will be printed and available to shoppers during the sale and the event will be advertised in the Indianapolis Star. Participating homes will be identified with a sign or balloon.

MFCDC Building Has Its Façade Restored

Thanks in great part to the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) and the City of Indianapolis which provided $15,000 in matching funds through the Façade Grant program, the building that is the home of the Mapleton Fall Creek Development Corporation (MFCDC) received much-needed façade improvements and repairs.
