Dear Historic Meridian Park Neighbors,

As we approach the conclusion of 2023, it is with great enthusiasm that I share the remarkable strides we have made toward our long-term neighborhood goals. Join us on January 8, 2023 at 6:30 pm in the Parlor Room at Tabernacle Presbyterian for an evening of community engagement and updates.

A key agenda item for the meeting will be the election of new directors for the board and the selection of a new secretary. Linked to this message are two PDFs containing job descriptions for these pivotal roles. If you are interested in contributing to the leadership of our community, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at board@historicmeridianpark.org.

Beyond the election, our meeting will feature updates on several neighborhood initiatives. Recently Travis Tatlock, Mapleton-Fall Creek Neighborhood Association President, and I had a productive meeting with DPW to address safety concerns on College, Central, and Washington. I am eager to discuss the plan devised to enhance safety and road quality during our meeting on January 8.

While Historic Meridian Park has held a place on the National Register of Historic Places since 1990, we are exploring the possibility of obtaining local designation as a Conservation District with the Indianapolis Historic Preservation Commission (IHPC). This designation aims to preserve our area’s distinctive atmosphere and character by safeguarding and enhancing its significant architectural and cultural attributes. To actively participate in shaping our community’s future, kindly fill out the linked form for the IHPC.

I am genuinely excited about our upcoming gathering on January 8 and look forward to your presence. As an added incentive, there will be cookies to sweeten our discussion!
