The HMPNA remains committed to bring art and culture to the neighborhood and Indy Art & Seek is grateful for the partnership. With all the uncertainty related to the current COVID-19 crisis, Indy Art & Seek would like to create additional opportunities for the community to engage with some of the Art & Seek projects. They’ve decided to participate in the “2020 Spirit & Place Festival.”

Spirit & Place is an 11-day event that creates a platform for residents through creative events, community conversations, and skill-building opportunities aimed at launching innovative experiments, amplifying invisible stories, and sparking radical collaborations.

During the festival, Indy Art & Seek would like to feature 12 of the 106 Art & Seek projects. The experience goal of Indy Art & Seek is to create a 4-day event where the community has the opportunity to have an in-person interactive/outdoor experience with the Art & Seek artists at their installation sites. This year’s festival theme is “Origins.” HMP’s participation will be limited to November 7, 8, 14, and 15. The Pocket Park is being considered as a safe outdoor gathering space for this event.

The idea is for the artist to perform poems and have a small discussion about the origins of the project Sunday, November 8, 2020 from 3:00 to 3:30 PM, allowing for 20 minutes to set and clean up before and after. The neighborhood’s plan is to have an Arts Council staff member and KIB on-site to set up, facilitate, and mark the space for people to participate in the discussion with appropriate social distancing. Attendance will be limited, attendees must register to participate, and when signing up will be notified about masks being mandatory for the event.
