It seems that with each new neighborhood activity or social event, someone decides to add another and those events become annual events. That is the beauty of urban living where neighbors want to know each other and engage with each other. It’s the beauty of large front porches where passerbys can stop for a quick drink and short conversation before continuing on their way. Or maybe they just smile and say hello and before long strangers become familiar faces who become friends.
So it should be no surprise to anyone who is familiar with HMP that on August 27, 2017, a new social event took place in the neighborhood. The HMP Progressive Carnival included six homes where neighborhood children were invited to roam the neighborhood and participate in carnival activities. A special thank you goes to the host families: The Hamptons, Robertson, Valentines, Parsons, Mehlman Rhys and the Reeves. Without them, the newest neighborhood activities would not have been possible.
