In addition to a pocket park, the HMPNA Board is actively exploring ways to increase the character of the HMP neighborhood.  One proposed measure to create neighborhood distinction is to have decorative urns strategically placed within our boundaries.  One proposed location is the roundabout at 32nd and Pennsylvania St.

The Board is researching placing an historic marker that commemorates the date that HMP was place on the National Register of Historic Places. The marker would be place at the crosswalk at 33rd and Pennsylvania St.    It will be a bronze Historic National Register Marker as HMP is not eligible for a state marker.

The Board is in the “fact finding and research” stage of these projects and welcomes active and constructive input from neighbors.  While dues assist with the funding of many beautification projects, the HMPNA Board is actively pursuing grant that will assist with those efforts.  Neighborhood volunteers are welcome and encouraged to participate in the planning, development and maintenance of all beautification efforts.  It is the shared effort that HMP is a premier place to live.
