At the time HMP was developed, a Baptist church stood at 3261 N. Meridian St.  The Episcopal dioceses purchased the property in 1919 and founded the “Church of the Advent.”  The current church building, designed by premier architectural firm McGuire and Shook, was built between 1951 and 1953 and renamed Trinity Church.  The design was inspired by a 13th century parish church in Suffolk, England.  St. Richard’s School was built several years later in 1960.
