A HMPNA Board initiative to improve the beauty of the neighborhood alleys will be a focus of the next 3 years. The board is researching opportunities to display public art in and throughout the neighborhood. This would include both temporary and permanent installations. There has been some interest from local mural artists if an appropriate site can be identified. One particular novel opportunity would be “alley art”. In addition to “alley art,” the board is researching the possibility of an “art alley” along the alley next to the park. At the “art alley” event, the neighborhood would feature local food vendors and live music. The board is hopeful to begin with a small version in July that, if successful, will grow in years to come and attract visitors from outside the community.

Not sure what “alley art” is? This article by Charles Q. Choi talks about the benefits of alley art and its impact on property values: https://www.popsci.com/can-street-art-increase-neighborhoods-property-values/
