A neighborhood favorite is just around the corner. The annual Fall Festival has inspired delicious recipes and fierce competition in the past. Neighbor against neighbor is the most sought after prize–the coveted golden ladle and golden fork. Who will impress the mystery judges with their culinary talents and bring home the prize? Begin perfecting the chili and cornbread recipes now as the 2021 Fall Festival is planned for Sunday, October 10 in the Pocket Park. Look for mor information to come in the next few weeks.
This year’s Progressive Dinner will be canceled. Plans to add it back to the social calendar in 2022 are underway. Invitations will be mailed to dues paying members to thank those neighbors who helped support neighborhood initiatives through their financial contributions. Dues are accepted at any time, however the earlier payments allow for the board to plan for activities and needs.
The annual winter holiday party with Santa is tentatively planned for the first week in December. Along those lines is the having a Secret Santa gift exchange and/or a Christmas Caroling Porch Crawl that would have luminarias for houses that want to participate. Houses interested in the porch crawl would have snacks and drinks for carolers and visitors on the porch. The HMPNA board will put together strategies for families that want to carol or have snacks on the porch. The board is also looking a large event space for a gift exchanges.
