There are many opportunities throughout the year for neighbors to connect with one another and to interact with board members. The Board will make many decisions regarding the direction of the neighborhood. To be as inclusive as possible, neighbors need to make an effort to communicate their vision for the neighborhood and what they will do to help make it happen. All are encouraged to make as many social events and meetings as possible. It is important for neighbor’s voices to be heard. The Board continues to seek innovative ways to connect with all residents either via social media, emails, flyers, or word of mouth. As new avenues of communication become available, they will be pursued.
2019 HMPNA goals include:
Development of a neighborhood directory. The directory may include emails or preferred ways that neighbors would like to be contacted. The information WILL NOT be shared outside the neighborhood.
Securing not for profit (NFP) status. As the Board prepares to take over the operations of the Pocket Park from the Pocket Part Committee, the Board is looking at ways to secure further NFP status to maintain the park and its subsequent costs such as maintenance and insurance.
Seeking Economic Improvement District (EID) designation. Funds raised from this initiative will be used for HMP infrastructure improvements and maintenance. This will also include the Pocket Park costs.
Ways to improve neighborhood dues collections. Currently dues can be paid to any Board member at any time during the year. For planning purposes, it would be preferable if dues were paid by a designated time. Dues can also be paid by PayPal using the link on the HMP website.
